Newly elected president Halil Erdoğan thanked Erdal Yetimova for his services to date.

UID UK held its 4th general assembly at the Yunus Emre Institute in London.

The assembly, attended by Cihad Güleç, Head of Legal Affairs and Vice President of UID Germany Headquarters, and Hakan Geçol, UID Central Executive Board Member and Deputy Chair of Organizational Affairs, began with the formation of the chairing board by Mehmet Paköz (President of the Turkish Union in London), Hacı Güngören, and Ayhan Kalkan.

Following the presentation of the activity report and financial summary by outgoing president Erdal Yetimova, Halil Erdoğan was unanimously elected as the new term president. Erdal Yetimova handed over the role to Halil Erdoğan and extended his best wishes for success. The former and new presidents exchanged plaques to commemorate the occasion.

In his thank-you speech to those attending the general assembly, Halil Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to Erdal Yetimova for his past services and stated his commitment to carrying the flag even further. Erdoğan included the following in his remarks:

“I extend my heartfelt greetings to all esteemed members of the UID family and thank you for being here with us today.

I am honored and excited to have been elected as the President of UID United Kingdom. I am aware of the responsibility I have taken on, and as the UID family, I believe we will build a stronger future for our community through unity and cooperation.

UID is a significant civil society movement that has become the voice of the Turkish community around the world, defending their rights and representing their goals. In the United Kingdom—a country home to many cultures and nations—we will work together to further the values that UID stands for,” he said.
