Since its establishment, UID has been a non-governmental organization committed to increasing the active participation of Turkish and immigrant-background individuals—particularly in Europe—in the social, political, and cultural life of the societies they live in, while preserving their cultural identities. In this process, combating discrimination, promoting multiculturalism, defending the right to equal citizenship, and enhancing democratic participation are among its core objectives.
UID’s vision is to see individuals from different nations, cultures, or religions participating in all areas of social life with equal rights and playing an active role in shaping society.
To achieve this vision, UID develops projects that support the integration of Turkish and related communities into the societies in which they live, and carries out institutional activities based on mutual understanding and respect for diversity.Through these efforts, UID aims to be a civil society organization that is responsive to the needs and rights of the communities it represents, works to eliminate prejudice, and cooperates with various institutions worldwide to promote social harmony.
UID’s areas of work span a wide spectrum—from promoting social peace and harmony to advocating for the recognition of dual citizenship rights, the recognition of Islam as an official religion, and encouraging the participation of immigrants in society.
We continue to strengthen global and local partnerships to create a work environment based on cultural diversity, enhance social cohesion, and maximize the potential of the business world.
